Most of the time I enjoy dining with a friend, but sometimes I get the urge to dine alone and take a really long slow dinner at lunchtime. With no conversation distractions, I become sensory aware. My eating takes on a more spiritual element. Flavors in the food and my surroundings are more hightened. I was long overdue for one of these refreshing experiences.
I had some errands to run in the Mullica Hill area ,so I decided to dine at TOSCANA. It is always a good sign when you are greeted warmly with smiling faces and helpful information. The host and the server were excellent and made me feel welcome. Any questions I had were promptly and adequately answered.
Dinner at noon would mean less cooking this evening; an extra bonus. I chose for my entree Ravioli Di Mama; Homemade Ravioli with your choice of sauce. You may choose Fresh Tomato Basil, Butter-Sage Parmigiana Reggiano or Tomato Brandy Cream Sauce. I chose the Tomato Brandy Cream Sauce. The pasta was truly homemade and the sauce was heavenly with just the right seasoning. With the Ravioli I was served a delicious bread and seasoned olive oil for dipping. I ordered a can of the Italian Iced Tea.
I should have stopped there, but one thing I love is Tiramisu and TOSCANA has the best I have ever eaten. They have an interesting selection of many Italian desserts. I completed my meal with a coffee to compliment my dessert.
I dined at Toscana with some friends some time ago. The combined opinion was good for the evening. There are many interesting dishes on the menu. For instance, there is an Appetizer named Warm Crab Cheesecake: a blend of Cheeses, Jumbo Lump Crabmeat, Shrimp, Roasted Pepper Coulis and Cucumber Fresco. As the menu states, it is truly a flavor sensation! The soups listed on the menu are Tuscan White Bean and Lobster Bisque.
Salad menu selections are Tuscan Wedge, Ceasar, Avocado and Crab, and Apple Walnut. TOSCANA offers a variety of unusual Pizzas and Paninis. One dinner menu entree, Pepper Crusted Filet, which is an 8 oz Filet Mignon in a Cognac Mustard Cream Reduction with Grilled Apsaragus and Portobello Mushrooms served with Whipped Parmesan Mashed Potaotes most likely will be my next adventure. I rarely order beef in an Italian Restaurant, but I might make an exception next time.
There are many unique menu choices and the atmosphere is warm, friendly, and very Tuscan Italian. Seating and parking are adequate and TOSCANA offers special banquet menus for small groups. There is a room off the main dinning area for this purpose.
The food is pricey and I do not like that everything including salad is ala carte. I wish, especially if I have to pay extra, they would offer a plain small garden salad. However, if you are looking for an unique experience in a pleasant atmosphere then TOSCANA is for you.

The owners of Toscana in Mullica Hill were the owners of the former Italian Bistro in Cherry Hill. My Uncle Harry works at the Mullica location, and we’ve eaten there many times, with all good experiences. We love the one in Cherry Hill as well.
