I am considering having a cocktail party for my aunts 50th birthday at Dereks. From the website, the place looks very nice. Now Im a little skpetical with all of these bad reviews… You are all saying there are other restaraunts on Main street. Please name a few…

bobo – I am sorry to hear you also had an awful experience at Derek’s. Although I did enjoy the food there, I’d rather frequent a restaurant with merely average food but stellar service. With this kind of poor reputation and service, I can’t imagine they are building a strong customer base. Main Street does have many better restaurants more worthy of your hard-earned money.

I have also patronized Derek’s and have had an awful experience. They try to make themselves out to be some high society establishment but give bottom of the barrel service and overpriced dishes. There are many other better restaurants on Main St. So don’t waste your time and money on overpriced food, rude service, and unprofessional management.

There’s an old Sicilian expression that roughly translated says ” the fish rots from the head”. That a ” host” would be so insensitive to a guest is certainly not an attribute of a place that is worth patronizing. I would seriously consider sending a dry cleaning bill to them for the spaghetti sauce.
