I used to work here and I completely agree.. the desserts are horrible. It’s crazy because they look absolutely delicious, but they are extremely dry and nasty. I must admit thou, the cheesecakes are very good. They are the only dessert that is. I do know that the desserts are made fresh (how they are so dry, I have no idea), but they keep backups of all the cakes in the display case in the front, so if it takes a few weeks for a cake to be eaten, then the backups are then going to be weeks old. So that is probably the reason why they taste that way. I had a slice of the italian rum cake for my birthday and it tasted like I took a straight shot of dry rum. It was HORRIBLE. And my boss wouldn’t even let me have the slice of cake for free on my birthday, even though they give away free cake to the customers for their birthday.. how rude?? The cooks are very dirty and unsanitary. One of the cooks spits on the floor constantly behind the food line while he’s preparing food. Another smells like body odor SO bad that every time he would come near me I had to hold my breath. Another touches raw meat and then prepares a sandwich with his bare hands without washing them. They cook all the food on the same grill and don’t clean it until the end of the day. I’ve seen them wipe off excess creamed chipped beef from the side of someone’s plate with their finger and then stick their finger in their mouth to eat the excess food. I’ve seen them drop bread, bacon, etc. on the floor where the one cooks spits, and pick it up to put it back on the plate. They are very nasty and I would never eat something that the cook has to prepare for me from this diner.

WORST MANAGERS EVER!!!!!

Food was ok, servers were ok, bartenders were blah.

Good try Chubbys, good luck staying open into the summer.

The Stratford Diner was never the Starview. Starview used to be Loupe’s Somerdale Diner, as Dana said It was my extended family’s restaurant, so I know this to be true. I also hear the Starview is excellent. I’d like to get back there and give it a try.

This restaurant should be absolutely ashamed of itself. The manager on duty tonight, Jim, was horrible and inconsiderate to say the very least. Denying a group of 8 half-priced appetizers while seating outside the cantina (even though each person ordered a drink or two), which we have gotten at that price several times in the past, and over-charging debit cards twice with no remorse is not just bad business but a sign of poor customer service. When we asked him to remedy the situation, he did not care. Do not patronize this establishment. They are thieves and don’t care about customer satisfaction. IT SUCKS! Shame on you.

My husband and I eat here frequently because it is so perfect each time, no matter what we order or no matter where we are seated. My special favorite is the Skylark salad with a portabello mushroom on the side. You should also try their fried calamari and the rich cheesecake. But I could go on and on with recommendations. Suffice it to say that we really love the Americana Diner in East Windsor, NJ.

Paul, maybe you were just unlucky (or the waitress was new). I’ve been there many times and I never had a single problem. The food was always good and orders were never messed up. Maybe the service can be a little slow sometimes.

Pine Hill Diner, have you been there lately, well my husband and I were this very morning much to our dismay. The outside of his tea mug was very dirty can’t say about the inside as the tea was already in there. My husband had Eggs Benedict, if that is what you want to call it, the canadian bacon was boney and fatty, could not eat it, the sauce was bland, the english muffin that the whole thing rested on was cold as was the entire plate. My pancakes was dry, cold and over cooked, which by the way I was unable to eat, my susage was cold, but the plate which it was served on was warm.

I believe that you should take a second look at this diner, let me know how you make out, as we will never return.
